Yemelyanovsky district

Yemelyanovsky district
Yemelyanovsky district

Administrative center: Yemelyanovo (an urban type settlement).
Population: 46,911 inhabitants.
Dialing code: +7 (39133).

The district is to the north-west of Krasnoyarsk and famous for its natural monuments, historical sites and recreational opportunities.

Tourist routes
Beautiful forests and plains in the central part of the district are perfectly complemented with the taiga forests in the west and north, cliffs and river canyons in the south, and steep Yenisei riverbanks in the east. The entire territory of the region is suitable for simple one or two-day cycle routes. For instance, it is easy to get to the Beryozovo-Muravyinaya Roshcha (birch grove) next to Ploskoye village. There are more than 50 different sizes of anthills. You can also get to the Buddhist stupa, which recently appeared on the turn from the M-53 highway to the Sukhaya village, or to natural monument Mininskiye stolby. If you go down the Listvenka River, you will reach the Yenisei bank below Krasnoyarsk hydropower plant. If you want to see the night illumination of HPP, then go to Divnogorsk vidovka from the first Mininsky Stolb where behind the rocks there are glades hidden from the wind. There you can see a magnificent view.

Rivers
All rivers in Yemelyanovsky district (Maliy Kemchug, Bolshoy Terekhtyul, Kacha, Shila, Minderla, Buzim, Kuyuk, Bolshoy and Maliy Arey) are famous for their pure water (in the upper reaches), fish, and being a great place to relax. Rafting on the rivers is possible during the high water. People of Yemelyanovsky district go to a mineral spring with healing waters close to the Solontsy village. One of the interesting routes is a hike to Kachinskiye Stolby. You need to get to the Pamyati 13 Bortsov village via the highway and go up the river to the Krutoy and Gladkiy Kach arrow. There are plenty of rocks and cliffs of various sizes and shapes. The most interesting are Perviy and Vtoroy stolby, and Krutokachinskaya stenka. The riverbanks are very picturesque. The arrow has a nice sandy beach. In the upper reaches of Gladkaya Kacha, the huge polished stones go under water.

Along Yenisei
If you go out of Krasnoyarsk through Udachny village, after passing it through you will get to the Arboretum of the Technology University, where rare plant species are carefully preserved. Dirt road runs past the villages on the bank of Yenisei to the mouth of a nice Minzhul brook. There are plenty of places for a beach holiday (if you are not afraid of the icy Yenisei water), beautiful views of the Krasnoyarsk and Kuysumsky ridges. You can descend into the Yelenev grotto and visit the Karaulnaya cave (hiking and horseback tours are available). A famous meadow of role players near the Borovoye village takes summer thematic games every year.

If you move from Krasnoyarsk to the north along Yenisei, you can visit the old Cossack settlements: Kubekovo, Khudonogovo, Chastoostrovskoye, Kuvarshino, Barabanovo (the last two remain impressive ruins of the 19th century churches). From the high left bank, you can see the beautiful panorama of the right bank on the distance from Zheleznogorsk to Krasnoyarsk.
